My desire for taking photos started in the summer of 1994 when I was living in Sequoia National Park. In my final weeks living in Sequoia, I was fortunate enough to be invited on a backpacking trip that would cross from the west side of the park in Mineral King and pass over the top of Mt. Whitney (14,494 ft) and end at the Whitney Portal. The hike was around 70 miles which was packed into seven days of pretty intense hiking in one of the most amazing and intense places I've ever seen in my life. I was in awe of the landscape every step of the way, which was to bold and strong to be minimized by the presence of anyone. From the giant granite peaks, the crystal clear alpine lakes, the creeks, rivers, waterfalls, wildlife, trees, and to the raw vulnerability I experienced in having my own will tested by the trip, it was Incredible! When this trip was over the only regret I had was that I did not have a camera with me to capture the images I was seeing. That one experience was responsible for peaking my interest in exploring the art of photography.

I spent many years after that trip with 35mm cameras just chugging along and not making much progress. Then came my discovery of photoshop and not long after that was the digital camera. Once I made the transition into digital I was able to start finding my groove and the ability to learn at a faster pace which has brought me to the place of constant exploring where I find myself today.

My photography is not limited to any particular subject matter, but consists of capturing images of all subject matter including, architecture, old cars, nature, people, sports, light and just about anything else that may grab my attention. Simply put, I just love taking photos of any environment that I'm in and creating images that I truly enjoy.
